Welcome!
Hi, I'm Rick Valenzuela. I'm a Security Operations Leader, or at least, this is this the least-terrible phrasing I could get an LLM to come up with for me (the next best alternate was "Cybersecurity Strategist"). I do cyber things -- in enterprise, threat detection engineering, project management and team leadership, and in addition I advise people and organizations how to better mitigate and manage their risks. I also previously maintained a long-running, stable release of myself as a journalist. There's a blog part of to this site, and you might find stuff there on infosec, news or analysis, or maybe a recipe. I like to cook.
About my background photo: Two radomes of Teufelsberg, the Cold War-era NSA listening station on the outskirts of Berlin. Today it's a managed graffiti haven and art space. I shot this around 2013 on my first trip to Berlin, and I had just missed seeing Daniel Ellsberg being interviewed there for a documentary. I most likely shot this with a Nikon D200, my work camera at the time.
